Introduction to SENDIAS Bathnes

We offer free, impartial and confidential information, advice and support to children and young people between the ages of 0 to 25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their parents or carers too.

‘SENDIAS' stands for Special Educational Needs and Disability, Information, Advice and Support'. By law, every local authority must have a Sendias service. They are statutory services and are informed by Chapter 2 of the SEND Code of Practice and the National Minimum Standards for IASS services.

In Bath and North East Somerset the service is delivered by us at Sendias Bathnes. The service we provide is for anyone living in in Bath and North East Somerset.

We offer help with all SEND issues, from earliest concerns through to complex legal processes including EHCPs, tribunals and complaints.

We help at every stage of a child or young person’s education, including into further education and adulthood.
